Timings |
The total training timings per day will be 8 hrs. This includes a one hour break
for lunch and 2 short tea/coffee breaks. Which basically means that the total effective training hours are about 6.5.
Reason : Talking beyond 6.5 hrs in a day is not physically possible for most people. Not only is it physically draining, but mentally as
well. Going beyond this
time period results in a lapse of concentration, lack of
enthusiam and general lethargy. None of these factors argue well for the topics
that the trainer is expected to present on. |

Professional charges for work done on Sundays and public Holidays |
As mentioned here, the professional charges for any assigment
which needs to be carried out on a sunday or a public holiday (as declared by the
Govt. of India) will be atleast 50% higher.
Reason : There can be no denying the fact that every individual
needs atleast one day off in a week. Providing additional compensation to an individual
in the event that he/she be called upto to provide services on a public holiday
is a logical conclusion. There can be only two reasons why a situation like this
can arise -
1. Most companies want to hold trainings on sundays in order to not lose out on
a working day and hence a billable day because it obviously translates into loss
of revenue. 50% higher charges for services rendered would be a very small propotion
of the billable amount saved by a company.
2. The company has a urgent deadline and hence requires certain services on a priority
basis. In our opinion shelling out 50% higher for one day in such an "urgent" scenerio
is also not something that requires too much of thinking into |

Travel Reimbursements (if any) |
In case any agreement involves reimbursements for travel, the following conditions
are applicable :
1. The tickets should not be booked on any low cost carrier.
2. No tickets should be booked without first consulting Quartz Systems for suitability
of timings
Reason : Bookings made on full service carriers like Jet Airways,
Kingfisher and Indian Airlines have the following benefits which turn out to be
very crucial for people who travel constantly.
1. Full service airlines have a frequent flyer program which entitles our trainers
/ consultants to lounge access, delay notifications, automatic tele-checkin, priority
access in case of over-booking and late arrivals and above all comfort and a certain
service standard.
2. The airlines mentioned above have a large network of flights and allow easy cancellation
/ re-scheduling / change of tickets without paying any cancellation charges (for
higher tier frequent flyers).
3. You don't have to worry about where / when are you going to take your meals when
you are on a late night flight to a destination

Accomodation Policy (if any) |
In case any agreement involves providing accomodation, the arrangement should be
in a business class hotel and not a guest house. The hotel should have wifi internet
access, 24 hrs room service, same day laundry and dry cleaning service and a travel
desk.
Reason : Guest houses are not acceptable because they are usually
resedential accomodations where each room is alloted to an individual with a care-taker.
Our past experience with these kind of arrangements has not been very pleasent in
terms of quality of service, quality and choice of food and ammenities which a person
constantly on the move would be used to.

Payment Terms |
As mentioned in the contract, on a case by case basis |

Lab Setup and Infrastructure |
Providing the lab setup and infrastructure is the responsibility of the company
availing services. Quartz Systems will provide whatever assistence and infomation
is needed for the same.

Restrictions on equipment |
In case a company has any restrictions on allowing visitors / consultants taking
in their laptops / PDAs / Mobile phones with camera etc. the same should be informed
to Quartz Systems before finalizing any dates for any assignment.
Reason : Lately some companies have started enforcing restrictions
in terms of electornic equipment carried in their premises. In most cases a special
permission needs to be taken in advance for allowing the same. In case a permission
cannot be granted for the same, Quartz Systems reserves the right to not carry out
the assignments in such premises. While we respect the rules and regulations laid
down by certain organizations to protect their intellectual property, we strongly
feel that we should be intimated regarding the same and be given a choice on whether
we want to take up the assignment or not. Most of the times there are helpful notes
and documentation and sample code that a trainer / consultant would have on his
laptop which he might need to refer to periodically. Also most trainers get only
a lunch break to make / take any phone calls. Expecting them to spend that period
outside the company premises so that they can use their phone is a little bit inconvenient
and we should be given a choice of whether we want to put up with the inconvenience
or not. |

Additional Services |
Unless mentioned, any additional services like post training support, pre/post training
evaluation, software installation would be charged additionally.
Reason : Providing any additional services requires additional
time and effort and hence its obvious that the same should be compensated. In certain
cases, Quartz Systems will provide additional services on a pro-bono basis, however
the same should be clarified and not taken for granted. |

Session Recording |
Recording of training sessions in any form (audio / video) is not permitted unless
prior permission is taken
Reason : Training happens to be one of the principal revenue streams
of Quartz Systems and we treat it as our intellectual property. Recording our intellectual
property and then re-using it without our consent is obviously not something we
are going to agree to or take lightly. Please take prior permission for the same
and the commercials for the same would be approximately 100 to 200% more than normal
rates. |

Cancellation |
In case a perviously confirmed assignment gets cancelled less than 7 working days
before the commencement date, Quartz Systems expects compensation to the tune of
50% of the professional fees and 100% compensation for any charges incurred in hotel
and air tickets already booked.
Reason : Last minute cancellation is a loss of revenue of Quartz
Systems and compensation for the same is an accepted norm in all service oriented
industries. |
