With over 16 years of expertise in the Information Technology arena, Nauzad started
out doing odd jobs under the banner of Mirage Software. Even before the age of 20,
he had developed full featured applications for the Home Loans department of Citibank,
Advertising & Sales Promotion Department for Marico Industries and assisted Glaxo
Pharmaceuticals in computerizing their Auditing procedures.
He has been associated with Microsoft’s .NET Framework since its Beta 2 stage. He
has gone thru the complete lifecycle of most .net based products like SharePoint
and BizTalk from their very first versions.
Nauzad’s expertise in the financial domain extends from tax compliance & mgmt, equity
& foreign exchange trading, insurance, accounting and data mining. He has assisted
organizations like NSE, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank, Citigroup, UTI Assets, Merrill Lynch,
Nomura and government bodies like Ministry of Finance & the AP state govt. in various
capacities.
In Oct. 2002, in recognition of superior technical contribution to the user community
in general via newsgroups and user-groups, Microsoft conferred on him the MVP (Most
Valuable Professional) status. Since then, Nauzad has had his MVP status renewed
for the next 6 years, making him one of the longest running MVPs in India. He was
also amongst the first Indian MVPs to be featured on Microsoft Spotlight.
He was one of the founding members and convener of the Mumbai .NET user group which
with over 12,000 members is one of India’s largest user-group for the .Net Platform.
One of the first and early BizTalk Certified Professionals in the world, Nauzad
was also instrumental in setting up India’s first BizTalk User Group.
He was instrumental in the formation of the INETA (International .NET Association)
Academic Committee which is responsible for spreading .NET awareness and assisting
various educational institutions in coming to grips with new technology. In May
2004 and 2006, at the annual INETA summit held at Bangkok and later in Kuala Lumpur,
Nauzad was nominated as the Vice President of the Academic Initiatives Program for
the Asia Pacific Region. Nauzad was also part of Microsoft’s “Train the Trainers”
program, an initiative which aimed at imparting .NET training to professors and
faculties of prestigious educational institutions. In the last 5 years he has conducted
over 60 workshops which touched over 14,000 students across 30 colleges and universities
across India
Since October 2003, Nauzad has been appointed on the elite panel of speakers responsible
for delivering MSDN and Technet seminars across India. He is also a regular speaker
at premier technical events like TechEd, DevDays and DevCon since the last 8 years.
At TechED 2011, Nauzad was invited to deliver 4 sessions (the most by any single
speaker) in BI, SharePoint, Architecture and Interoperatibility tracks.
In Oct 2004, Nauzad was added on the Microsoft PTR council for Asia Pacific, and
was responsible for developing content for Microsoft’s MSDN Connection Program.
He has played the role of a SME (Subject Matter Expert) for technologies like Web
Services, SQL Server 2005/8, Business Intelligence, ASP.Net 3.5, ADO.Net 3.5, LINQ,
SharePoint and Workflow Foundation.
In Aug 2005, Nauzad was one amongst the 10 other judges selected from across the
globe to judge the prestigious Imagine Cup finals held in Yokohama, Japan. Two years
later he joined a panel of 24 to judge the Software Design Finals at Seoul, South
Korea.
To sum it in Issac Asimov’s words – “We do not fear Technology…we fear the lack
of it”.
